UVU Alert: Mental Health Support and Resources/Gathering Personal Effects

  • FBI Victim Services
    • The FBI’s Salt Lake City Division has created this Virtual Family Assistance Center to support those who were present at the event in Orem, Utah, on September 10, 2025.
    • FBI resources across the country, including victim specialists, responded to assist those who have been affected. Please review this website for information on resources available, including the personal effects and intake information forms. Please contact the FBI at OremVictimAssist@fbi.gov if you have questions about these resources and/or forms.

  • Virtual Mental Health Support
    • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline / dial 9-8-8: The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7/365 via call, text, and chat to provide one-on-one assistance and compassionate support.
    • Wasatch Behavioral Health: A public behavioral health center providing services to meet the needs of children, youth, adults, and their families. Services include individual therapy, family therapy, residential services, and 24-hour crisis response.
    • 2-1-1 by United Way | United Way of Utah County / dial 2-1-1: 211 by United Way connects individuals and families with local services, including physical and mental health resources, housing support, disaster recovery, and healthcare. Dial 211, download the app, or go online to see local services.
    • National Mass Violence Center: Network of resources available to survivors of mass violence.
    • National Child Traumatic Stress Network: Resources for caregivers to support children and teenagers recover from traumatic events.

Retrieval of Belongings

  • Monday, September 15-Wednesday, September 17 
    • The FBI will be facilitating personal effects return at the Utah Valley University Young Living Alumni Center beginning Monday, September 15, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Local service providers will also be available to connect victims with local resources.
    • Full hours of operation will be: 
      • Monday, September 15: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
      • Tuesday, September 16: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
      • Wednesday, September 17: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
      • Address: 1062 W 800 S, Orem, Utah, 84058
  • September 18 and beyond 
    • Non-Courtyard personal effects will be located at Campus Connection through the Lost and Found process.
    • More information to come for the personal effects that were in the Courtyard and processed by the FBI that have not been picked up by September 17
