UVU Alert: Friday, September 19: All Campuses Will Close at 1 pm

All buildings, classrooms, and office spaces on UVU's campuses will close at 1 pm this Friday, September 19, due to the Vigil for Unity at 4 pm at the UCCU Center. Please take your personal possessions with you as the doors across campus will be locked. Please plan accordingly and share details of this campus closure with your students and/or employees. Please also note that the campus will be closed on Saturday, September 20, with exceptions including the Fulton Library and sporting events.

Part-Time, Student, and Non-Exempt Employees:

Part-time, student, and non-exempt employees will be paid for their regular hours on Friday. They should adjust their time in TIMS to reflect their regular hours. Supervisors will then finalize and certify hours to confirm they are correct.

What to Know About the Vigil

In the wake of the tragic shooting that claimed the life of Charlie Kirk during an event on campus on September 10, Utah Valley University will host a Vigil for Unity on Friday, September 19, at the UCCU Center at 4 pm, with doors opening at 2:30 pm. The vigil will provide a space for students, faculty, staff, and community members to come together in remembering, healing, and reaffirming shared values. The Vigil for Unity is open to the public. UVU encourages all who attend to come in the spirit of peace, reflection, and mutual support. A video livestream will be available on uvu.edu for those unable to attend.

*Please note that NO BAGS of any kind will be allowed into the UCCU Center for this vigil.
