Our Utah Valley University community has been deeply affected by the violence on campus on September 10. Whether they were on campus or off, our community is all feeling the repercussions of this horrific event. While the campus is closed through September 15, we encourage all students, faculty, and staff impacted by the events to seek mental health care. This is of the utmost importance. Moments like this call for compassion, connection, and care — for ourselves and for one another.
Due to the campus closure, these are the off campus/virtual resources:
UVU Receiving Center – Immediate, short-term crisis support. Call (801) 852-2131 or visit https://www.wasatch.org/crisis-services-at-wbh/.
BYU Comprehensive Clinic (Provo): Fill out the online intake form at comprehensiveclinic.byu.edu/make-an-appointment.
Rocky Mountain University Clinic (Provo): Walk-ins welcomed. Call 801-900-3656.
Office of Victims of Crime: Visit https://ovc.ojp.gov/.

988 Crisis Lifeline has a team of trained crisis counselors who are available. Anyone can call or text for any reason.
SafeUT https://safeut.org allows you to chat with a licensed counselor for support or submit a tip.
TimelyCare provides mental health and well-being support. Email deanofstudents@uvu.edu to receive a license for TimelyCare.
For UVU Employees: In addition to the above resources, we want to remind you that confidential resources are available through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provided by ComPsych. The EAP offers counseling, guidance, and support 24/7 for employees and their families. Whether you need someone to talk to, help manage stress, or discuss strategies for supporting loved ones, these services are here for you. You can reach the EAP by calling 800-922-2687 or visiting guidanceresources.com, or by downloading the GuidanceNow app. If requested, use code EAPU. All services are confidential and at no cost to you.
UVU on campus support systems will be available and announced before the campus community returns on September 15.
