Return to Work at UVU

On Monday, June 8, we will welcome another portion of our community back to campus. As determined by their immediate supervisors, employees in categories one and two will again occupy the spaces left empty by COVID-19. We are looking forward to your return to UVU. We appreciate the flexibility, creativity, and collegiality demonstrated during these trying times. Other category two employees will return on June 22 and July 6. This phased approach of returning to work is being done in coordination with the state and the Utah System of Higher Education. For more information on the phased return to work, please refer to the Human Resources Coronavirus Employee Guide. You will also find updated information regarding how to keep you and those you care about healthy. We understand that some of you may have reservations about returning because you are a high-risk individual or live with a high-risk individual. If you fall into that category, please contact Human Resources.

Your well-being is essential. You will return to cleaned and sanitized workspaces. Other precautions are also being taken in conjunction with state and CDC guidelines:
  • Sick employees should stay at home.
  • Hand sanitizer stations can be found throughout campus.
  • Social distancing and healthy hygiene practices are expected.
  • Increased airflow has been added to buildings.
  • Masks are being provided to every employee and will be made available by contacting your supervisor. We strongly encourage you to wear the mask when you are near other people. As a campus community, we promise exceptional care. We are asking everyone to remember that you are protecting your co-workers and their families by wearing your mask. When you see them wearing a mask, they are doing so out of consideration for you.

Please refer to the Return to Campus webpage for additional details on expectations and transition tips. All main campus facilities will be open beginning June 8 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., Monday–Friday, with the exception of the McKay Education Building, the Melisa Nellesen Autism Center, and Wee Care Center. UVU’s Wasatch Campus will re-open June 15.

The Student Life & Wellness Center will also re-open and will operate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday–Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. Those who wish to utilize the facilities will be required to comply with state guidelines, which include maintaining a social distance of 10 feet and completing a health survey and temperature screening. Additional measures are being taken to sanitize equipment.

Grab-and-go food services are available Monday-Friday at these locations:
  • Chick-fil-A
  • Mom Fulton's Café
  • Taco Bell
Thank you again for your dedication, resilience, and all that you are doing to continue to support students and colleagues. We look forward to your return.
